CHARLES DALY
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Pastor, Rev. Charles C. Daly, to our church community!
Charles joins us from Epworth UMC in Durham. Prior to Epworth, he served at Mt. Carmel UMC in Manns Harbor, NC. A native of North Carolina, Charles completed his undergraduate studies at UNC before earning his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
During his time in seminary, Charles interned at St. Paul and St. Andrew UMC, co-led a Methodist student ministry on Columbia University’s campus, and taught Sunday school to 70 children as the youth pastor of Tian Fu United Methodist Church. His ministry experience is extensive and diverse, including roles in hospice chaplaincy, dementia care, food pantry management, addiction response, homelessness services, disability services, and music leadership.
Charles brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to our congregation, and we are excited for the many ways he will enrich our community through his ministry.

I am a graduate of the well-renowned Eastman School of Music (BM - Music Education - Voice '98). I studied with Marcia Baldwin (Metropolitan Opera '59-'77) and the esteemed baritone, Dale Moore.
I have been a professional educator for over 13 years and I teach chorus and band at Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill. I am the conductor and founder of Flash Chorus and inaugural Conductor of PopUp Chorus. Both are "show up and sing" event series held in music venues here in Durham and around the triangle.
Prior to my adventures in education and conducting, I toured the country as lead singer and multi-instrumentalist for my power pop band, SNMNMNM.
As Music Director of Elizabeth St. Church it is my hope to develop a culture of church-wide musical involvement by breaking down the barriers that keep us from fully expressing our faith through song. I invite anyone to participate in the choir. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to make a joyful sound! I look forward to working with you!

I am a single mom to 5 fabulously unique (mostly grown) humans, and CiCi to one grandchild. This single mom journey has been the hardest JOY.
My 20 years in ministry shine with special highlights: Radio DJ'ing and commercial production; organizing an annual celebration meal for 500 internationals; putting bandaids on (barely there) cuts just to make them feel better; immobilizing 200+ congregants to serve with local community non-profits; coordinating travel and mission details for folks in dozens of countries; making/getting unique props like rockets, gold pants, fake mustaches, the solar system, fairy wings, etc.; connecting supportive people with places and people that need support.
For fun I attend and often usher live theater, devour movies, cheer on sports (especially basketball #GoHeels, and Olympics), soak in solitude, haven't met a beach I don't love, and most importantly, I love to laugh... and laugh some more!
